The tablet, a Toshiba Encore running Windows 10, was working flawlessly until one day recently when I noticed the touch keyboard would no longer appear when I clicked fields in applications such as Chrome in tablet mode. It had previously worked just fine with that app, and I still can manually start the keyboard and enter data.

I have so far checked all related settings and can confirm that the keyboard is set to appear automatically for tablet apps. As far as I can tell every setting related to this is as it should be. Same result. Yet it does appear as it should in one or two other apps. Given the keyboard can be activated manually and works fine, I am working on the theory that an update to Windows has somehow broken the automatic functionality. I am however loath to uninstall or roll back if it can be avoided.
